Mistral Star ran well in the Listed Lester Piggott Fillies Stakes at Haydock on Saturday finishing third and gaining some valuable black type. However, one can't help thinking she would have finished even closer had Hughie Morrison's four year old consented to settle better. Clifford Lee's mount was still racing keenly early in the homestraight and then she met traffic problems along the far rail. Beaten two and a quarter lengths behind Queen of The Pride, it was a frustrating race to watch. That's racing.
As discussed, I am working on the Ahead On The Flat Royal Ascot Update which will be emailed to clients on Sunday pm (16th June). If you haven't ordered your copy, please head to the Publications section of the site. In addition to full analysis of the five days action at the Berkshire venue, I have passed on comments regarding many of those horses featured in the Top 40 Prospects in AOTF, plus there are a few unraced two year olds to watch out for in the coming weeks. The Update is £10.00.
