Starlight Lass features in the Unraced Three Year Old section of Ahead on The Flat and, while it was disappointing that she didn't make a winning start at Yarmouth on Wednesday, the Dubawi filly ran a race full of promise in the opening fillies' maiden over seven furlongs. From the family of the stable's St Leger winner Logician, John & Thady Gosden's charge had reportedly worked nicely ahead of her first start and she went through the contest like an above average filly. Having allowed the more experienced Shushu get first run, she stayed on well under tender handling to fill second position. She ought to be hard to beat next time.
As discussed, I was working at Carlisle on Tuesday evening and was able to gather some excellent information for Royal Ascot next time. Whilst there I was informed of a horse who is being targeted at the track's big meeting later this month (24th June) - the fixture includes the Carlisle Bell, Cumberland Plate and Listed Eternal Stakes. The horse in question will be included in the Royal Ascot Update, which will be emailed to clients on Sunday (14th June). If you haven't ordered a copy, please head to the Publications section of the site.
