As discussed, I am currently working on the York Ebor Festival Update which will be published on Monday next week (17th August). The Update will have full analysis of the four days action on the Knavesmire. If anyone hasn't ordered a copy, please head to the Publications section of the site.
The Top 40 Prospects in AOTF continue to roll along and Kokbastau gained his second victory of the season and looks a three year old with a bright future. Making his handicap debut off 88 over a mile and a half at Kempton on Wednesday evening, Roger Varian's runner destroyed his eleven opponents by upwards of five lengths. Sat in behind the leaders down the backstraight, the son of Wootton Bassett made his move once a gap opened up inside the final quarter of a mile. Within a matter of strides, Cieren Fallon's mount hit the front and bounded clear. Likely to be suited by some ease in the ground on the turf, he looks a Group horse in the making. In the meantime, perhaps he will be saved for the £100,000 Old Rowley Cup at Newmarket (9th October). Either way, he is a cracking prospect.
Look out for more announcements re interviews in the new edition of One Jump Ahead over the next couple of weeks. Once all the interviews have been completed, I will be updating the Publications section with all the details re One Jump Ahead and the Updates 2026/2027.
