The November Update has been emailed to clients (5.07pm). If anyone hasn't received it, please let me know as soon as possible. The 25 page Update concentrates on the action at Cheltenham on Saturday and Sunday and an interview with David Pipe who has assembled some smart prospects at Pond House. In addition, there is Part II to the French Revolution section - a follow up to the article in One Jump Ahead with additional new recruits from across the English Channel. There is news and views on the featured horses in OJA, plus a description of the most noteworthy purchases at last month's Newmakret Horses in Training Sale. Smattered within the Update are a few ante-post suggestions, including one for the Betfair Stayers' Handicap Hurdle at Haydock later this month and some big price selections for the Cheltenham Festival.
There is still time to order a copy of the November Update and the remaining four Updates - please head to the Publications section of the site.
As discussed, Nicky Richards had a decent team of bumper horses last season and they are developing into a useful squad of novice hurdlers for the weeks and months ahead. The Greystoke outfit were responsible for an across the card double on Thursday with Japetus and La Zoubida scoring at Market Rasen and Sedgefield respectively. The former was a Juddmonte cast off who was bought unraced last year for 50,000gns. The well bred son of Sea The Moon won two of his three bumpers last term and made a fine start to his hurdling career as he wore down longtime leader Lock Stock close home. Danny McMenamin's mount prevailed by half a length with eight and a half lengths back to the third. He is a nice prospect.
