J.P.McManus had 6 winners from 46 runners over the Festive period (26th - 29th December) with Narciso Has his only Graded success in the juvenile hurdle at Leopardstown on St Stephen's Day. During the last two days at Fairyhouse, his famous green and gold has been carried to victory by two highly promising youngsters who look every inch Graded class in the future. Twenty four hours after Proactif's win on his Irish debut in the four year old hurdle, Mighty Park made a sparkling start to his Rules career when routing fifteen opponents in the two miles maiden hurdle. Originally second reserve, Willie Mullins' charge made the line up following three defections on Thursday morning and never looked like getting beaten. Partnered by Mark Walsh, the ex-pointer soon established a good lead over stablemate Roc Dino. Sauntering clear after the third last, the Walk In The Park gelding who is a half-brother to Grade 1 winners Might Bite and Beat That, crossed the line 38 lengths clear of his stable companion. Previously handled by Donnchadh Doyle and runner-up in his sole point-to-point at Quakerstown in April last year, he features in Declan Phelan's Irish Pointers article in One Jump Ahead. In all likelihood, Mighty Park will have another run to gain more experience before lining up at the Cheltenham Festival. While quick enough for two miles, his pedigree suggests he will be even better over the intermediate trip. Much will depend on what else his owner has for the Supreme and Turners Novices' Hurdles - Davy Crockett is likely to line up in the former.
