Dream still alive

Autumn Update readers will be aware that I suggested an ante-post wager on Magisterial (available @ 50/1) for next year's Epsom Derby following his promising debut at Newmarket last month. A well bred son of Frankel trained by John and Thady Gosden, the Bjorn Neilsen owned colt had finished fourth at his local track in a mile maiden. Champion jockey Oisin Murphy was on board that day and he continued his association on his second outing at Haydock on Friday in a similar contest. Well backed beforehand, he travelled like a smart horse before being pushed out for a ready one and a half lengths victory from the more experienced Splendent. His jockey was complimentary afterwards and it is hoped Magisterial is put away for the winter now. Bred to stay well, it will be interesting to see if he reappears in a novice stakes under a penalty or is aimed at a Classic trial in the spring. Either way, expect him to return to action over ten furlongs. The dream is still alive and he is a colt to look forward to.

All orders for One Jump Ahead received by lunchtime on Friday have been posted. Those which have arrived since will be sent out on Saturday morning. Apologies to those clients who live in Ireland who have ordered OJA - these have been taking far too long to arrive having been sent a couple of weeks ago. Judging by the paperwork we had to fill in before they were sent, I can only assume it is due to Brexit. In future, unless things improve dramatically, I am only going to offer OJA and Ahead On The Flat as a PDF to overseas customers. As things stand, both parties are losing out - the client isn't receiving the book they ordered and we are paying postage and they aren't even being delivered - which is very frustrating.
