Apologies for not updating the Diary for a few days, I have been busy preparing for the interviews for the new edition of One Jump Ahead. All being well, I will be contacting trainers next week - news of those will be announced on here in due course.
The Top 40 Prospects in AOTF had a welcome winner on Monday evening when Roi De France went one better having finished runner-up on his reappearance. The John and Thady Gosden trained three year old returned to the same C&D at Windsor and wasn't hard pressed to win the one mile novice stakes by nearly three lengths. Having raced keenly during the early stages, Oisin Murphy's mount sat in behind the leaders before striking the front with over a furlong to run. Pushed out to score readily, he is now eligible for handicaps and is an interesting prospect for the second half of the season. Yet to race beyond a mile, the son of Sea The Stars is a half-brother to stablemate Vaguely Royal who has winning form over twelve furlongs and stays further. Therefore don't be surprised if he is campaigned over ten furlongs this Autumn - he could be ideal for the Cambridgeshire at Newmarket (28th September. The Gosden stable have won the nine furlongs cavalry charge on five occasions, including with 4 three year olds.
