Value Racing Club's golden summer continued on Saturday evening when Squeezebox won on his hurdles debut at Market Rasen. A big strapping six year old by Slade Power, he might not be bred for the job but he certainly has the physique for jumping. A three times winner on the Flat for Mick Appleby, he was transferred to Tom Lacey and the Herefordshire based handler has done a terrific job with him. Contesting a two miles novice hurdle at the Lincolnshire track, he made all the running before staying on strongly to beat the 117 rated Nap Hand by a length with seventeen lengths back to the third.
A reminder that the York Ebor Festival Update will be emailed to clients on Monday evening. The response has been tremendous and much appreciated. If you haven't already ordered your copy, please head to the Publications section of the site. The 26 page plus Update gives a comprehensive analysis of the four days action on the Knavesmire, plus some extra horses to look out for in the coming days and week - these include a couple of unraced two year olds, plus an ante-post selection for next month's Ayr Gold Cup.
