Thank you very much to those clients who ordered Ahead On The Flat over the last few days - those orders will be sent out on Monday. I was working at Ayr on Friday and Saturday and have spent most of Sunday replying to emails etc. Apologies to those clients who only received their books towards the end of last week - the postal service has once again been slow in certain parts of the country, which is very frustrating for both parties.
The withdrawal of Tellherthename from the Scottish Champion Hurdle at Ayr on Saturday was also frustrating but not a huge surprise. Following 5mm of rain on Friday which turned the ground from soft, good to soft in places to soft, heavy in places, Dan Skelton and his team elected to take the seven year old out. Having nominated him at 8/1 in the Aintree Update, it was disappointing but understandable. I suspect he may reappear in the Swinton Hurdle at Haydock next month and, granted favourable underfoot conditions, he ought to be very competitive. However, we won't be 8/1.
The featured horses in Ahead On The Flat have made an encouraging start and I will discuss some of these in the Diary in the next 24 hours. They include first time out winning three year olds I'm The One and Synchronicity who both scored impressively at Newbury on Friday. The pair look two high-class fillies in the making.
If you haven't ordered a copy of Ahead On The Flat and the Updates, please head to the Publications section of the site.
