Happy Easter to all clients and contributors. Those orders received for Ahead On The Flat over the weekend will be posted on Tuesday morning. We now have less than 100 copies in stock - please order via the Publications section if you haven't already done so before we run out.
The Andrew Balding interview in Talking Trainers continues to churm out the winners with two more successes at Newcastle on Good Friday. Both Berkshire Whisper (9/2) and Storm Star (5/2) received favourable comments by the head of Kingsclere and the pair supplied the stable with two valuable prizes on all-weather finals day at Gosforth Park.
Following the abandonment of the first day of Fairyhouse's Easter fixture, there wasn't much to get excited about on the track in either Britain or Ireland on Saturday. However, it was good to see old favourite Il Est Francais get back to winning ways at Lyon. Reverting back to hurdles for the first time since March 2023, James Reveley's mount barely came off the bridle to record a seven lengths victory in the Prix Du Mont Pilat. Noel George indicated afterwards that, while the seven year old is entered in the Grade 1 Grande Course De Haies D'Auteuil (17th May), his main target is the King George at Kempton on Boxing Day once again.
