Arguably the most impressive performance of the day in the UK came from ex-French gelding In Excelsis Deo who scored by five and a half lengths on his British debut in the two miles novices' handicap chase at Hereford. Previously handled by Daniela Mele in his home country, he was highlighted as a horse to follow in the French Revolution section of One Jump Ahead and he didn't disappoint on his first run for Harry Fry. A winner over hurdles at Pau in January, he raced off a mark of 127 and relished the switch to fences. Jumping superbly for Lorcan Murtagh, he travelled strongly before taking over before the home turn. Eased down late on, he is set for a hefty rise in the weights but looks capable of defying it. His jumping alone will ensure he wins more prizes.
Don't forget the Christmas Special is due to be emailed to clients on Thursday - please head to the Publications section to order your copy, if you haven't already done so. Leading Bloodstock agent and great supporter of OJA Anthony Bromley has included the two horses he is most looking forward to seeing over Christmas - both horses will be sporting the double green silks of Simon Munir and Isaac Souede.
STOP PRESS: Rich Ricci has also nominated the two horses he is most looking forward to over the Festive period - neither horse has raced this season.
