Progressive four year old

William Haggas spoke favourably about Orionis on page 95 of Ahead on The Flat and the four year old produced a good performance to win on her reappearance at Goodwood on Friday. A three times winner last year, the daughter of Sea The Stars won the twelve furlongs handicap by a length and three quarters of a mark of 90. Conceding twenty six pounds to the three year old Venetia, Cieren Fallon's mount was never far off the gallop before striking for home inside the final quarter of a mile. Pushed out to win comfortably, her connections feel the four year old is capable of gaining some black type and that looks realistic following a most encouraging return to action. 

I am working at Haydock Park on Saturday and it promises to be a tremendous afternoon with the Group 2 Sandy Lane and Temple Stakes, plus the ultra competitive Silver Bowl for three year olds over a mile. I will be back to update the Diary on Sunday.
