I was working at Carlisle on Sunday and it was day three of the Go North series and Sandy Thomson capped a good weekend with two more winners at the Cumbrian track. Jamie Snowden trained his 77th winner of a personal best season with Red Acres Max proving too strong in the concluding bumper. It was good to see Nico De Boinville and, while he only had one ride, he was busy signing autographs. I managed to have a quick word with him and chat about some of his recent winners - he was excited about a few of them, plus an unraced bumper horse who will hopefully be running shortly.
Switching codes, William and Maureen Haggas have nominated their horses to follow for the new edition of Ahead On The Flat. Interestingly, the pair have each picked an unraced three year old - all will be revealed in AOTF. In addition, George Boughey has kindly sent me half a dozen of his new crop of juveniles for 2026. These include an impeccably bred colt owned by the late Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum.
Once again, thank you to those clients who have purchased a copy of Ahead On The Flat and the Updates over the weekend and on Monday - the sales have been relentless suggesting plenty are ready for the start of the Flat season. Please go to the Publications section of the site, if you haven't already ordered.
