Interview with Ed Bethell

Middleham based Ed Bethell has developed into one of the leading forces in northern Flat racing in recent years. Since taking over the licence from his father James in 2021, Ed has sent out annual totals of 22, 22, 43, 58 and 53 winners. Stable stalwart Regional provided his yard with Group 1 glory in 2023 when capturing the Haydock Sprint Cup. For the third consecutive year, I am delighted to include Ed in the Talking Trainers section of Ahead On The Flat. Once again, the stable is blessed with a nice mix of youth and experience, including some potentially smart sprinters who have been recruited during the last eight months. 

Thus far, I have completed interviews with Ralph Beckett, Ed Bethell, George Boughey, William Haggas, Owen Burrows, Roger Varian and Ed Walker. In between writing the Cheltenham Festival Update, I will carry out more interviews next week and will keep readers informed on here once complete.
