Gary & Josh Moore and Dan Skelton interviews

On Wednesday, two more interviews were conducted for the forthcoming edition of One Jump Ahead. I spoke to Gary Moore at lunchtime and ran through the stable's leading lights, which has been bolstered by some interesting new arrivals from France. Gary now shares the licence with his son Josh and he is always good value - he doesn't waste words and very direct and accurate with his assessments. The Sussex yard sent out 56 winners last season finishing twelfth in the trainer's championship.

Later the same day, Dan Skelton ran through over 80 horses and he, too, was very generous with his time. Paul Nicholls' former assistant enjoyed a magnificent campaign last winter with 120 winners and total prize-money of £2,981,419. Runner-up in the trainers' title behind Willie Mullins, the stable's owners have invested heavily in new stock - there are some terrific prospects from the Irish pointing ranks, plus a few additions from across the English Channel.
